Neoma: Compassionate Counselling.

I named my practice Neoma, meaning “new moon,” because I feel it beautifully captures the spirit of gentle transformation that counselling can offer. The new moon is subtle, easy to miss, but it marks the start of something. To me, healing often begins this way: with a soft shift, a gentle turning inward, and the slow return of hope. I believe we all deserve space to grow into ourselves at our own pace, and to feel held and respected along the way.

Nature plays a big part in how I work - not just as a setting, but as a quiet, steady presence. Whether we’re physically walking through the woods or simply holding its rhythm in mind, I often find that nature has a way of bringing us back to ourselves, helping us breathe a little easier.

In my own life, I feel most at ease outdoors - walking through the trees, hiking in the Peaks, or camping in the quiet countryside. I find comfort in simple things: a slow morning coffee, a well-loved book, a yoga practice that keeps me grounded and present. I try to live gently, to move through the world with care, and to notice the small moments that give life meaning. That sense of calm focus didn’t come all at once; it’s something I’ve grown into slowly and intentionally. I appreciate just how precious contentment can feel when life has been busy, overwhelming, or uncertain.

What brought me to counselling, and continues to shape the way I work, is a deep belief in the power of being truly heard, without judgement or agenda. I know how easy it can be to lose sight of yourself in the noise of everyday life, and how grounding it can feel to have space that’s just for you, to slow down, speak freely, and be met with warmth and understanding.

If any of this resonates with you, you’re very welcome to get in touch. You can send me a message to arrange an initial session, ask any questions, or simply get a feel for whether this might be the right space for you.
